5 Methods to Achieve a Snowy Texture Nail Look
Create winter-inspired seasonal nail art with textured effects using nail stickers.
Combine sleek nail art stickers with different techniques to capture that unique snowy look for winter and the holidays ahead.
Method 1 - Use a Textured Matte Top Coat
After applying the nail art sticker, use a matte top coat that contains very fine glitter or sand-like particles.
If you are looking for something especially wintery, this technique will add a grainy winter texture without a shiny surface that can work well with seasonal winter nail sticker designs.
Method 2 - Apply a Velvet Powder for a Soft Finish
Velvet or flocking powders can create a textured surface.
Apply a clear gel or top coat, sprinkle the velvet powder over it, and cure it.
Brush off any excess to reveal a grainy, textured to complement your Christmas nail sticker designs.
Method 3 -Mix Fine Glitter with Matte Top Coat
This method is similar to the previous (method 2 with powder finish). But instead we'll use a matte top coat that is pre-mixed before applied to the nail.
It is especially great if you create a lot of grainy or rough nail art, since you can continue using the mix you created!
Here's how:
- Choose your fine glitter or micro-sand particles and matte top coat.
- Blend your ingredients in a clean pot with lid. (New pot with lid if you plan to use the mix again, of course.)
- Apply this mixture over the stickers to get a sparkly (if glitter), textured finish.
- Let it dryyyy.
The result from this technique adds another dimension to your nails without being overly shiny, enhancing your holiday nail sticker ideas.
Method 4 - Buffing for a Subtle Grainy Effect
The buffing technique is basically dabbing a matte top coat with a very fine nail buffer. The lighter you do, the more delicate the look.
It works by roughing up the top coat surface before curing.
As you cure everything, the surface will keep that subtle grainy effect without adding overall thickness to your winter-themed nail art.
Method 5 - The Sugar Effect for Crystalline Texture
Use a powder to create the Sugar Effect. Some powders are specifically designed to give a textured, sugar-like appearance. Like this:
- Apply a top coat.
- Sprinkle over the powder before drying.
- Cure the nail.
There you go, a simple textured and matte result! Add it to your skills, combine these techniques with your seasonal nail art stickers to create fantastic winter patterns.
The sugar effect can also be found in some texture top coats. Sometimes they are marketed as "sugar effect" or "velvet finish".
Each method can provide a unique textured look without diminishing the stickers themselves. For more inspiration, explore our Christmas Nail Sticker Designs and Snowflake Nail Stickers collections.
